If you experience errors installing the extension from the Chrome Web Store, you can install it manually using the extension file.
When to Install Manually
Manual installation is helpful if:
Chrome Web Store installation fails
The extension does not download properly
Browser restrictions prevent normal installation
📌 This method is also called sideloading.
Important Notes
⚠️ It is safe to install ExportYourStore manually when using files provided directly by ExportYourStore.
⚠️ Extensions installed manually do not update automatically when new versions are released.
You may need to install newer versions manually in the future.
Step 1: Download the Extension File
After downloading:
Extract the ZIP file
Save the extracted folder somewhere easy to find
Step 2: Open Chrome Extensions Page
In Google Chrome, type:
chrome://extensions
into the address bar and press Enter.
This opens your Extensions page.
Step 3: Enable Developer Mode
In the top-right corner of the Extensions page:
Turn on Developer Mode
This allows manual extension installation.
Step 4: Load the Extension
Click Load unpacked
Browse to the extracted ExportYourStore folder
Select the folder
Step 5: Complete Installation
When prompted by Chrome:
Click Add Extension
The ExportYourStore extension will now appear in your browser.
After Installation
✔ Refresh your browser
✔ Make sure the extension stays enabled
✔ Sign in to ExportYourStore again if needed
