SKUs are an essential part of managing your products across multiple marketplaces. While product titles and descriptions may vary, SKUs should remain consistent so ExportYourStore can accurately identify your products across channels. SKUs also make inventory management and sales reporting much easier.
How ExportYourStore Generates SKUs
Unique SKU already exists
If a product has a valid, unique SKU, it will not be changed.
Empty SKU
If the product SKU is empty, ExportYourStore generates a new SKU using the product’s ID plus a unique value.
Duplicate SKUs
If two or more products share the same SKU, a unique number is appended.
Example: SKU
SHIRTbecomesSHIRT-1andSHIRT-2.
Variations
Variation SKUs are generated based on the parent SKU.
Example: Parent SKU
SHIRT-1→ variations:SHIRT-1_Blue,SHIRT-1_Red
Note: ExportYourStore automatically updates the generated SKUs on your connected source platform products.
